Closing Again For A Few Days

13909 Antiques will be closed for three-days this week - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week (October 1, 2 and 3; and maybe longer), as yours truly is undergoing minor knee surgery on Wednesday and will need a few days to recover.

 Actually partial recovery comes in 2-weeks and full recovery takes 4-6-weeks, but, if all goes well, I should be moving around okay on 1-2-days, and, I can chill out in the store, just as well as chilling out at home.

At least, that way, even though my help may be limited (no heavy lifting, no stairs), you can still shop, peruse the vast amount of Antiques, Collectibles and Vintage Items housed in 13909 Antiques.

So, apologies, again, for closing for a short time but do plan to come visit 13909 Antiques soon, you'll have a blast doing so

Saturday At The Golden Ball Tavern Museum Antique Show

As you know, Saturday was a tremendous weather day, sunny, warm, reaching into the 80's, so it was a perfect day for 13909 Antiques to participate in the 47th Annual Golden Tavern Museum Outdoor Antique Show.

We were joined in our space by semi-retired Antique Dealer Rose Flynn, and her brother Jackie, in a ideally-located space, diagonally across from the Museum's barn, and right near the Food Station.

Traffic throughout the day was light, but, between those that attended, and the dealers surrounding us, we had a good time, and we look forward to participating again next year.

Our apologies, again, to anyone who came by 13909 Antiques on Saturday, to find us closed (and we will be closing again this week, for 2, or, 3-days - there'll be a seperate post on that tomorrow).

13909 Antiques Closing For 2-Days

Don't let the headline alarm you.

13909 Antiques is going to be participating in the Golden Tavern Museum's 47th Annual Outdoor Antiques Show and Sales, on Saturday (Sept. 27th, from 9AM to 4PM), located on the Tavern grounds at 662 Boston Post Road, in Weston, MA.

And, currently, there is road contruction across the street from our store, at the intersections of Belmont, Grove and Arlington Streets, and they have coned off three of the five parking spaces in front of the store, to accomodate the traffic flow.

So, with the need to pack up for the Antique Show on Saturday, and the congestion out in front of the store, we would rather not inconvenience you with finding a parking space, plus the accumulation of boxes here in the store.

While we will be officially closed tomorrow (Friday), however, we will be in the store.

Saturday, we will be closed, and we will be leaving flyers for the Antique Show, which offer a discount on the admission price.

We wil be open again, on Sunday, our normal hours of 11AM to 5PM.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope that we see you soon.

She is dressed in white, stands about 12" tall, in very good condition (there is some wear on her), and ready to be filled this Autumn with your delicious baked cookies.

The MCoy Aunt Jemima Cookie Jars are not all that common, as a good number of them were made by Hull, and others.

Ours is in Excellent condition, springs still tight, the Oak wood in good shape, and, as you can see in the photos, the company's imprinting is still vibrant.

This comes from the Delphos Bending Co. in Delphos, Ohio

If you have a very young toddler, this can be a great item, giving them both exercise, and a boatload of fun.

What is a Giclée Print?

The Definition : Giclee (zhee-klay) - The French word "giclée" is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. The word may have been derived from the French verb "gicler" meaning "to squirt". 

The Term : The term  "giclee print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.

Ours are 8" x 10", Museum-quality, printed on canvas, and unframed.

All are reproductions of famous (and infamous) artwork, posters, Government Propaganda, from tourism, to roadraces, trains, antique/vintage advertisements, and old movie posters

We're only displaying a handful here, but there's over 50 to choose from, with varying prices.
