Vintage Easter Candle Carousel

It may be a Lillian Vernon, with bunnies, ducks, Easter lillies, and Easter eggs, with six candle holders, to power the carousel to spin.

It's made of wood, pyramid-style, three tiers, standing about 18" tall and 12" wide, and is in very, very good condition.

This would be a great item for one with small children, and can serve to add to your Easter decorations.

Unique Vintage Lighthouse Wall Sconces

They come from the 1950s, or so, and are likely hand-made (vs. manufactured), as we could find them anywhere on-line, and they have a hand-crafted look.

They measure 8 1/4" Tall x 5" Long, and are in a classic lighthouse motiff, with red-and-white stripes, doors painted on it, and metal-framed indents in the back, for hanging.

Theoretically, they could serve as bookends as well.

It is of the Louwelsa pattern, coming from between 1895 and 1906, or so.

One is the Hand Painted Pansy Vase (or jug), the other is molded after the Antique Water Jugs, with three handles (as those retrieving water would require 3 people to lug it back)

Both these pieces have understated beauty, rich dark tones, splattered with vibrant colors.

Vintage Hennessy Liquor Display with Capitaine Richard Hennessy Figure

Oh, have we got a tremendous item into 13909 Antiques!

Vintage Hennessy Liquor Display with Capitaine Richard Hennessy Figure

We'll whisper the word "Rare", as we could only locate this Vintage piece of Liquor Advertinsing and Display in only two places.

It likely comes from the 1950s or Early 1960s, with a Capitaine Richard Hennessy Figure standing tall at 13" and 7 1/2" wide (from right hand to left elbow), with the base measuring 11 1/2" x 6" (you'll have to supply your own bottle of Hennessy Cognac).

The Capitiane appears to be made from Chalkware, or, some type of resin material, and is in excellent condition, as is the base.

In the event you're not familiar with Capitaine Richard Hennessy;

Leaving the county of Cork, the young captain Richard Hennessy in 1757 leaving his native Ireland to be at the service of King Louis XV. But stationed in the island of Ré, he discovered the charms of the Charente and abandoning military dress, he began trading brandies and founded in 1765 the house Hennessy Cognac. In its selection of the best spirits, he is always looking for perfection and quality has endured for eight generations.

Vintage Wilfrid O.White & Sons Transparent Course Protactor

Nautical fans, likely, recognize the name, as the company of Wilfrid O.White & Sons was well-known for their nautical instruments.

Ours comes from the 1950s (possibly a little older), a Transparent Course Protactor, to navigate the seas, using your position with this instrument, starting out in Boston, back in 1920, and with offices in New York City, and Baltimore.

There's detailed instructons on the Original Envelope, as well as branding and some instructions on the Protactor itself;

For Compass Course

Use Magnetic (Inside) Compass Rose, or: Take off Course from Degree Rose

ADD Westerly Variation or SUBTRACT Easterly Variation.

The Transparent Course Protactor is in Excellent condition, the Original Envelope for it has one tear, at the opening, and a few dirt spots.

If you are an Old School Nautical Instrument Collector, your ship has come in, or, if you identify yourself as the uncast member of the Big Bang Theory, this would make a good score.

Vintage WNEW Mel Torme Poster (Framed)

We have another great piece of yesteryear here at 13909 Antiques!

Vintage WNEW Mel Torme Poster (Framed)

The Velvet Fog, legandary Jazz Vocalist Mel Torme is featured, who began his career in 1933, and rose to great fame in the 1940s, and remained there, building his legacy as a great crooner of jazz standard songs.

Not to be left out, he was the music composer for the classic Christmas tune, 'The Christmas Song' and was the object of adoration by Judge Harry Stone, on the television show 'Night Court'.

This comes from the early 1970s (1973), when the New York Jazz Radion Station WNEW commissioned works of some of the legendary Jazz Artists (including Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, and Louis Armstrong).

It's framed, and a big one, measuring 29 1/2" W x  x 46" T. 

The frame was wear and some paint staining on it (whoever originally had this chose a Vintage Frame for it).

Whether you are a Mel Torme fan, or collect Jazz Art, this is one major, cool, funky piece of work, that you'll want for your decor, or, collection.

It measures about 11" wide and 3" deep, with three feet, and the botton rim is decorated with three Fleur de Lis's.

It's in excellent condition, and there are some air bubbles in the glass

With Spring in offing, and Summer soon to follow, this would make wonderful use, for fruit on your table, or for serving your special culinary creations.

1952 JFK Senate Campaign Necktie - Rare Item

With this being a scorching-hot Presidential Election season, we thought we'd pull out one of our Rare inventory items, here at 13909 Antiques

1952 JFK Senate Campaign Necktie - Rare Item

We have, over the years, researched for this item and have yet to find it anywhere.

It has JFK's image spaced 3 times over the length of the necktie, and his name twice, under two of the images.

It comes from the 1952 Senate Campaign of John. F. Kennedy.

One of our famlly members was a friend of JFK, went to school with him, attended his wedding, and, worked on all of his campaigns (beginning with the first, in 1946).

We make no claim - Repeat - no claim, this was worn by JFK.

Rather, it was worn by our family member, or, other campaign workers, perhaps, given as gifts to politically-connected suppporters.

This 1952 JFK Senate Campaign Necktie is in fair-to-good condition, intact, however, it does have multiple stains on it, front, and back

We, fairly recently, consulted with a political collectibles expert, also a writer who works with Auction Houses and Private Collectors around the country, who knew what this was, confirmed it's rarity, and estimated what it's value would be.

This would be something for the hardcore political collector, one that covets rare and obscure items, that has a collection like no one else.
