13909 Antiques has scored a major cool piece of Vintage Glass

Vintage Bohemian Blown Opalescent Vaseline Glass Jack in the Pulpit Compote

Coming from the 1930's, it is classic Bohemian Glass, most likely Harrach, due to it's crimpled deflecting rim, and staged bands for which Harrach was known for.

This modified Jack-in-the-Pulpit also sports an internal rib pattern, which was also a Bohemian staple.

Put this baby under a black light, and you get a fabulous, brilliant glowing effect.

It measures 11 x 9.5 x 8" Tall, weighing 1lb, 10oz.

New Summer Hours for 13909 Antiques

Our apologies, as we meant to get this posted earlier this week.

13909 Antiques, beginning June 1st, has moved to its' Summer Hours.

New Summer Hours

Monday:  Off - By Appointment

Tuesday:  Off - By Appointment

Wednesday:  11AM - 7PM

Thursday:​    11AM​ - ​8PM​

Friday: 10AM - 6PM

Saturday:  9AM - 5PM

Sunday: 11AM - 5PM

While our Off-Day has been Tuesday, we will also be closed on Mondays, for June/July/August.

The reason is two-fold;

1. 13909 Antiques plans on participating in various Flea Markets (as we did this past Sunday, at the Somerville Flea Market), and it would be a rather big load to carry, doing the Flea Market on Sunday and reopening on Monday.

2. Summer, in the Antique World, tends to be a bit slower ... Vacations, and glorious beach days take priority over hunting for Antiques, so we will go-with-the-flow on that

We will continue our Thursday schedule, of 11AM to 8PM (Hint, Hint ... You can come here after work), and will now be open on Wednesdays, until 7PM

As always, on both our Off-Days, we are available for appointments, either in-store, or on-site, so don't hesitate to ask

So take note of the New Summer Hours, and plan on visiting 13909 Antiques.

We have a bevy of items, and our customers are continually complimenting us on our inventory, so get here and check it out

Rain, Rain ... Go Away! ...

We're pouting today ...

For the third Thursday out of the last four, the weather - rain - has washed out our weekly Thursday Bargain Basement Table.

This is, as we described in our post on 8 May;

 "We can't bring you to the basement, so, we'll bring our basement to you!"

We provide Discount Vintage Items, with nothing over $40

So, mark your calendars, we'll be running it on Sunday (8 June), from 11AM to 5PM, so make note all you Flea Marketers and Yard Salers ...

In the meantime, we'll turn it over to Stacey Kent, to try to make something of this dreary day

Vintage 1940 Stenography Machine, with a bevy of Extras!

For all you Legal Eagles out there, 13909 Antiques has a tremdous Vintage item for you;

1940 Stenotype Stenography Machine

This was put out by The Stenotype Company, of Chicago, Illinois.

Along with the Stenography Machine, in original case, with orignal brochure, it comes with a boatload of extras.

There's over 40 lessons you can practice with, a Hardcover Manual, Theory Manual, Elementary Stenotype Reader, and, a leather box of extra paper.

This is a great get for a stenographer, who collects Vintage Stenograph equipment, or a lawyer or law office, or a young student and can take advantage of all the extra tutorials with it.

Sunday At The Flea Market With George

No, It's not a new play by Sondheim, or painting by Seurat ...

And, undoubtedly, somebody at the place had the name "George"

Just having a little fun, as 13909 Antiques participated in the season opener of the Somerville Flea Market (formerly called The Davis Square Flea Market).

It was a beautiful, Ernie Banks day, warm, bright sunshine, and a teeming crowd of shoppers.

We were joined in our space by our good friends at Artistic Orientals, who carries some very major, killer, antique Oriental Carpets..

While 13909 Antiques didn't experience a bevy of buyers, we did have one, very discerning customer;

All-in-all, it was a good day, and look for 13909 Antiques back there on June 15th.
