Very Vintage GE Art Deco Desk/Table Clock - Working Condition

This, we estimate, comes from the 1930s, two-tone wood, and the face offers color contrast as well.

Best of all, it is in working condition.

It does have some wear, and scratches, but, overall, in good shape.

We did an extensive search on it, and came up empty.

There's a small plate on the back of it, offering it is Model # 48H0, which didn't come up in any searches ... We found numerous sites listing GE Clocks, by model number, and, again, no go.

This is simply a clock, not an alarm clock, suitable for desk, table, or wherever you would want to place it.

We couldn't find it on-line, so not certain if it is truly Vintage, from 1950's or older, or, simply, a reproduction, as there is a site that indicates Silvestri started issuing reproductions in the 1980s.

In either case, it is stunningly awesome, in an Art Deco design, slightly frosted glass, and still with a bit of the fragrant perfume in it.

This would make a great Christmas gift to your sweetheart, or, for the collector of Art Deco, and/or Perfume Bottles (We also have a second Silvestri, Pink Bottle, with a Sash).

Very Vintage El Casco Art Deco-Style Pencil Sharpener

This comes from the late 1920's or early 1930's, is chrome-plated, has a "See-Thru" glass window on top, and a draw that pulls out, to empty your shavings, along with a suction-cup bottom to stay put on a flat surface.

This is a gleaming beauty, almost a regal piece of work.

Musical Interlude - Hymn to Friday

This became my weekend anthem, over 30-years ago.

I first heard in when living in Los Angeles (Venice Beach - a Fellini film, without an ending), on the 24-hour Jazz Station, KKGO ...

Later, moving up to San Franciso, the legendary KJAZ radio station, their afternoon host would kick-off his show at 2PM with it ...

It, of course, is the classic Oscar Brown Jr. tune, 'Hymn To Friday'

Hand-Colored Photograph

Hand-colored photograpy goes back as early as the 1830's.

Most may be aware of the art through local artist Wallace Nutting, who produced a prodigous amount of pieces (often, using photographs taken by himself).

13909 Antiques is fortunate to have a tremendous piece, a hand-colored photograph of the Piazza San Marco, in Venice, Italy, encased in a very complemtary frame.

There's no signature on it, and estimates by myself, and a few others, place this from the 1930's or 1940's.

Come by the shop some day to check it out, and, perhaps, purchase it.

13909 Antiques is now Open!

Announcing the opening of 13909 Antiques.

It's a great little store (about 700sq. ft,) and in a great location - the corner of Belmont and Grove Sts., and where Arlingtion Street cuts into it (Belmont Medical and Michael's Pizza are landmarks for those local) ... And, I'm only a few blocks over the Cambridge line.

I have a great selection of Antiques, Vintage and Collectible items, as well as some rare, not-commonly-found pieces, and, the oddball thing here-and-there ... Furniture, Glass, Carnival Glass, Bone China, Fenton Glass, Vintage Costume Jewelry, Knic Knacs from Early Century onward, Vintage Dolls and even, and early 1930's Decca Hand-Crank Phonograph ...
