Closing Again For A Few Days

13909 Antiques will be closed for three-days this week - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week (October 1, 2 and 3; and maybe longer), as yours truly is undergoing minor knee surgery on Wednesday and will need a few days to recover.

 Actually partial recovery comes in 2-weeks and full recovery takes 4-6-weeks, but, if all goes well, I should be moving around okay on 1-2-days, and, I can chill out in the store, just as well as chilling out at home.

At least, that way, even though my help may be limited (no heavy lifting, no stairs), you can still shop, peruse the vast amount of Antiques, Collectibles and Vintage Items housed in 13909 Antiques.

So, apologies, again, for closing for a short time but do plan to come visit 13909 Antiques soon, you'll have a blast doing so

No, this is about any police action, but rather an old bookcase ...

And, not just any old bookcase ...

A Vintage 1940's Larkin Bookcase

Measurement are 48"H, by 18"W, and 10"Deep, is either Cherry or Mahogany, and is in excellent condition.

 You have three shelves for items, plus two draws to use.

This is a great piece, if you need something for books, or knic knacs, and don't have a lot of room.

This is a real gem.

The Larkin Company was a prodigious outfit, first making their mark in selling soap, and then, using pioneering Direct Marketing techniques (before the term "Direct Marketing was even dreamed of), began selling their customers additional items, including furniture.

Hand-Colored Photograph

Hand-colored photograpy goes back as early as the 1830's.

Most may be aware of the art through local artist Wallace Nutting, who produced a prodigous amount of pieces (often, using photographs taken by himself).

13909 Antiques is fortunate to have a tremendous piece, a hand-colored photograph of the Piazza San Marco, in Venice, Italy, encased in a very complemtary frame.

There's no signature on it, and estimates by myself, and a few others, place this from the 1930's or 1940's.

Come by the shop some day to check it out, and, perhaps, purchase it.

I'm having trouble loading a video I shot yesterday (approximately 9-minutes) of 13909 Antiques Shop (you can email me for it) ...

In the meantime, while I try to fix that, here are some photos of inventory currently stocked ...

13909 Antiques is now Open!

Announcing the opening of 13909 Antiques.

It's a great little store (about 700sq. ft,) and in a great location - the corner of Belmont and Grove Sts., and where Arlingtion Street cuts into it (Belmont Medical and Michael's Pizza are landmarks for those local) ... And, I'm only a few blocks over the Cambridge line.

I have a great selection of Antiques, Vintage and Collectible items, as well as some rare, not-commonly-found pieces, and, the oddball thing here-and-there ... Furniture, Glass, Carnival Glass, Bone China, Fenton Glass, Vintage Costume Jewelry, Knic Knacs from Early Century onward, Vintage Dolls and even, and early 1930's Decca Hand-Crank Phonograph ...
