Very Vintage Kinkaku-ji ("Temple of the Golden Pavilion") Silk Art

Very Vintage Kinkaku-ji ("Temple of the Golden Pavilion") Silk Art

This comes from, at the very least, the late 1930's.

There's a Frame Designer's sticker on back that dates it to this period, the artwork could be significantly older.

This Kinkaku-ji or "Temple of the Golden Pavilion" is officially named Rokuon-ji (鹿苑寺?, lit. "Deer Garden Temple"), is an actually edfice, located in Kyoto, Japan.

It has a rich history and was actually burned down by a mentally-ill monk.

We've had a few clients that have been to it and say it is an awesome sight

So, hop in the nearest rickshaw and beat a path to 13909 Antiques to give this incredible work of Art a new home.

What is a Giclée Print?

The Definition : Giclee (zhee-klay) - The French word "giclée" is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. The word may have been derived from the French verb "gicler" meaning "to squirt". 

The Term : The term  "giclee print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.

Ours are 8" x 10", Museum-quality, printed on canvas, and unframed.

All are reproductions of famous (and infamous) artwork, posters, Government Propaganda, from tourism, to roadraces, trains, antique/vintage advertisements, and old movie posters

We're only displaying a handful here, but there's over 50 to choose from, with varying prices.

You can leave your offer at the time of preview, otherwise, it must be submitted by July 9th, 5PM.

Once purchased, contents must be removed by July 15th, or a Late Fee of 15% will be applied with a Final Removal Day of July 22nd. If purchased and fallure to remove items by this date (without contacting owner and making arrangements) will result in a default, with a 50% Cancellation Fee appilied.

We can accomodate two parties sharing the purchase of the contents of this unit, provided all-above-referenced terms are met.
