New 13909 Antiques Video!

Out with the Old, and In with the New.

We've been busy here at 13909 Antiques this past week, breaking out some new inventory, cleaning up, reorganizing inventory, all to get ready for the new year approaching.

There's still a few days left of shopping, to help out the good cause of The Gifts of Hope, where 13909 Antiques is donating 15% of our sales to benefit the Belmont Food Pantry, so come on in and pick out some gifts for your family and/or friends with January birthdays!

When we opened this past March, we shot a video shortly after our debut, which netted us a few sales, from as far away as Texas, and Canada.

So, since we have significantly more inventory from when we first opened our doors, we shot a new video today.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas ...

Well. minus the snow, that is.

It's been a hectic time for many of us, with work, Christmas Shopping, and, just getting ourselves into the Christmas Spirit.

13909 Antiques will closed, from Tuesday, 23 December, through Friday, 26 December, returning, and being open on Saturday, 27 December.

Historic Grandma Moses Christmas Cards from 1946

13909 Antiques is most fortunate to have a piece of Art History available.

We have 8, of the original 16-piece set, of the first-ever released Grandma Moses Christmas Cards, from 1946.

 Jane Kallir, in her essay on Grandma Moses; 

"In November 1944 Kallir and Story signed a contract with Moses, agreeing to jointly and exclusively represent her. The arrangement not only guaranteed the artist a steady source of income and freed her from the demands of sometimes capricious individual customers, but, most important, it gave her consistent and coherent management. The events that established Grandma Moses’s reputation nationally, and then internationally, followed in relatively quick succession. Kallir immediately launched a traveling exhibition program that over the course of the next two decades brought Moses’s work to more than thirty U.S. states, ten European nations and finally, in a Cold-War-era triumph, Moscow. In 1946 the first Grandma Moses Christmas cards and the first monograph, Grandma Moses: American Primitive, were published. Both enterprises proved so successful than in 1947 Hallmark took over the greeting card license, and Doubleday reissued the book in a larger print-run."

This is an exciting, and incredible, opportunity, especially for a Vintage Christmas Card Collector, or Grandma Moses fan.

The card are in good shape, the envelopes, not so good, but, then again, you will, most likely, want to frame these, as oposed to mailing them out - This is a true, collectible item.

You can research yourself, and you'll be hard-pressed to find Original 1946 Grandma Moses Christmas Cards anywhere around.

Vintage Taz Tasmanian Devil Christmas Candle

"Holy Lightable Looney Tunes, Batman!"

Yes, at 13909 Antiques, you can often find the unusual item, and we have one now, just in time to light your Christmas Spirit.

Vintage Taz Tasmanian Devil Christmas Candle 

Not sure of the DNA on this item, what year it came out, but it's a tremendous item, some nicks on it (it is wax, afterall), but still unused, never been lit.

Taz was featured in  "Looney Tunes" and "Merrie Melodies" series of cartoons, and you can read more about the character on Wikipedia, known for his carnivorous nature, voracious appetite, and surly disposition.

Christmas Time Is Here ... At 13909 Antiques!

'Tis the Season, and goodwill to all!

Sorry we've been slow on posting the past two-weeks, it's been very busy here at 13909 Antiques.

And some of that busyness has been moving around our inventory, making space for our Vintage Christmas Items.

13909 Antiques Participating in Belmont Gifts of Hope

This is the "Season of Giving" and 13909 Antiques is doing its' share.

When contacted by the Editor of the 'Belmont Citizen Herald', about participating in "The Gifts of Hope", she didn't have to ask twice, we quickly agreed.

As you well know, there are so many people, in this area, in this country, who have fallen on hard times, who are less fortunate than others, for a bevy of reasons, be it downsizing, laid off, company closed, catastrophic medical needs, and require some help, need someone to care about their plight, to lend a helping hand.

The Gifts of Hope does that, raising funds and supporting the Belmont Food Pantry.

You may have seen this recently;

BELMONT GIFTS OF HOPE: Thirty-two businesses supporting pantry

The holiday season is in full swing, and as you make your list and check it twice, be sure to remember there are more than 200 people living in Belmont who are clients of the Belmont Food Pantry. In the spirit of this time of giving, 32 Belmont businesses have signed up to participate in the Belmont Citizen-Herald Gifts of Hope campaign to benefit the Belmont Food Pantry this year. This means shoppers have 32 different ways they can give back to members of their community who are in need and at the same time accomplish some or all of their holiday shopping now through Dec. 31.

13909 Antiques will be donating 15% of all sales, from November 24th, until December 31st to the "Gifts of Hope" campaign.

You can also drop off Food Donations at 13909 Antiques (you can see here, on the Belmont Food Pantry site, the appropriate Food Items sought)

13909 Antiques Closing For Inventory Change-Over

Well, it's that time of year, though the Big Retailers have been laying low on the Christmas Ads, concentrating on promoting their Black Friday blitzing.

13909 Antiques is going in a different direction.

We will be closed from Friday, 21 November (initially to manage an Estate Sale), and will be closed until the following Friday, 28 November (the day after Thanksgiving, and the aforementioned Black Friday).

We're closing to change out inventory, and will be presenting our Antique and Vintage Christmas Items!

We have a boatload of great stuff, from Vintage Christmas Cards, Knic Knacs, Ornamnets, Window and Tree Lighting, Snow Globes, Vintage Toys, Santa and Mrs. Claus Standing Figures, and much, much more.

And, perhaps our Crown Item is 8 of the original set of 1946 Grandma Moses Christmas Cards, the first-ever commercial release of her artwork!

We will be in the store, if you do want to come by, but there will be quite a bit of clutter around.

13909 Antiques Debutting New Logo

And it's a beauty!

It's been a great deal of work, in the first six-months of opening our store, 13909 Antiques.

We first got out great outdoor sign up, designed by the artist Zach

Now, we have our official new Logo, designed by Sean Collins, of TenTen71 Graphics (who we had worked with at a previous business we had, some 15-years ago - he has awesome talent)

We asked Mr. Collins to come with a "Decoish" design, and he exceeded our expectations;
