These came out of the now-closed Diver Jim's Store, in Belmont, and come from the 1950's or early 1960's.

There's two Star Fish, one Sea horse, four other fish (two small, two large) and, the plastic Swordfish, which is large.

These would make great decorations if you own a Seafood Restaurant, or, an ocean for a small child who is into sea creatures.

You can buy any one of these for $25, or take the whole school of these fish for $140

Vintage Deluxe Mahogany Cedar Hope Chest by Bluebird

If you are planning on getting married in the next few years, or, you have a bevy of Knit Goods and Linens to store, I've got a tremendous retro-item for you

Vintage Deluxe Mahogany Cedar Hope Chest by Bluebird

This is from the Bluebird Company, of Dillingham Manufacturing in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, coming from the late 1930's or early 1940's.

 And, it still has the original Blue Birds, and Company Guarantee with it!

It is a Chippendale mahogany ball and claw lowboy-style, and offers a deep, cedar-lined storarge area.

It stands at 45"W x 19"D and 34" T

What makes it Deluxe, while there are faux draws decorariting the facade, the bottom draw is real, cedar-lined, for additional storage.

There is some wear on the top (you can use a doily, which I may have some, in my Vintage Linen Collection) as numerous knic-knacs and decanters were stationed on it, but otherwise, it is in excellent condition. You may want to invest a bit, and have it professional cleaned/polished, or refinished, to bring back the original luxurous patina.

We know, that Hope Chests aren't popular with the younger generation, but this can be a tremendous storage piece for your sweaters, winter coats and clothing, towels and linens, or any delicate clothing items you have.

This is somewhat a rare item, being that this isn't a Lane Hope Chest, which an overwhelming number of them are in this area.

I have it On-Sale right now, for $385, in searching, this same model I found that it is going for nearly double the price of similar others out there, so come grab this before someone else does.

1927 and 1961 New York Yankee Team Plates

"Holy Damn Yankees, Batman!"

This is a little off-beat for your usual items, but rolling into 13909 Antiques is something for you Baseball Fans.

1927 and 1961 New York Yankee Team Plates

These, as you can see from the photos, are the team members of the World Series winning New York Yankees of 1927 and 1961.

The heroes are there, from the famed "Murderers' Row", with Ruth and Gerhig to the famed "M&M Boys", Mantle and Maris.

13909 Antiques picked this up in an Auction Lot, so, before the Authentication Police start issuing warents, these, particularly the 1927 team, are likley reproduction cards and, while their real signatures, done mechanically, since these look like they are mass produced, and such, certainly, wasn't around in 1927.

They are, however, very handsome pieces, and for the Die Hard Baseball Person, particularly New York Yankee fans, these would make nice additions to your collections.

Vintage Hand-Made Armoire

This could almost classify as Americana ...

13909 Antiques has a large, Pine, Hand-Made Armoire, made by our late Uncle, back in the late 1940's or early 1950's

It stands 89 1/2"Tall by 40", by 29 1/2" Deep,  and even carries a small touch of a Deco feature, two little reliefs on either side of the door.

There is lock on the door, however, my late Uncle didn't finish it, and it is not connected to lock (that can easily be remedied)

This would be an exceptional piece, if you need extra closet, or, storage space, and want to do it in Retro-Style, be it in your home, basement or garage.

It could even serve a cafe, or restaurant, who would like a Vintage Coat Closet for their customers.

The Gibson Books - Vol. 1 and Vol. 2

"Holy Awesome Antiquarian, Batman!"

Here at 13909 Antiques, we don't toss around the description "Rare" lightly, and only in certain situations.

Well, we have one, a rather Rare item.

'The Gibson Books', both Volume 1 and Volume 2, and in Very Good-to-Excellent condition.

These are a collection of the published works of the profound, and prolific graphic artist, Charles Dana Gibson, that, along with his brilliant talent, and satire, is equally known for the creation of 'The Gibson Girls'

These were published in 1907, and our two Volumes are in Very Good-to-Execellent condition (one corner of one volume as a bit of wear).

Gibson's works are brilliant, and his satire is pinpoint hysterically funny - you just don't see something like this everyday ...

And, in event you snort that we are overhyping this, I suggest you do your own research ... Amazon has a Volume and not in good condition ... The Auction House Skinner has a Volume, that is falling apart ... Someone on eBay has a Volume, again, in poor condition ...

Vintage Ephemera

With the wave of new inventory rolling into 13909 Antiques, we have some tremendous Antique and Vintage Books and Ephemera for you.

No. 1 - Leading off is everybody's favorite Tarzan - Johnny Weissmuller, with a not-commonly-found program from the 'Johnny Weissmuller Warercade of 1950'

14 pages showcasing the Tarzan and Jungle Jim star, and billed as "The World's Greatest Swimmer" (he did win 5 Olympic Championships, and broke 67 World Record by 1950).

Others in the program (including photos) are Norma Dean, Charlie Diehl (World's Heavyweight Diving Champion). Stan Dudek, Bill Lewin, Aquanymphs, The 3 Dolphins, The 4 La Vernes, Johnny Edmiston, Harold & Lola, Edwards & Hart, Sue and Al Lynn, as well as details of the show which was staged and produced by Noel Sherman. 

No. 2 - A real gem from the irrepressible performer, comedian, dancer, singer, actor and songwriter, Eddie Cantor, and his 'Eddie Cantor in Laughland', published (under exclusive contact with Cantor) by Goldsmith Publishing, in 1934.

It is a small book, in very good condition, a short story of Cantor, with sketchings, saving the people in the land of "Never Laugh" ...Of course, Cantor gets them laughing by the end of the book.

No. 3 - An Antique book, published in 1912, 'Mother Goose in Holland', is filled with classic, and some not-so-famous, nursey rhymes, with illustrations, some in color, 

This book is only in "Fair" condition, with a dirty cover, with some scratches,  a loose spine, some pages are loose, and there are pencil and crayon markings on the front and page pages.

Ah, but the nursery rhymes are classic, and you can still have a great time sharing this book with your children (they may be stunned, going from a computer, to an Early Century published book)

This isn't all ...
